Dutch is a service dog of a veteran. He bit a woman who he was left with after she beat him mercilessly (describing it as beating him until her hands hurt and then beating him with a metal pole), dragged him inside by collar and then when she approached his head further he defended himself. The statute at question says he must be unprovoked and the judge ruled it applies because he did not bite her during the beating and now is going to fine the veteran (or jail him) and euthanize the animal.
PLEASE do whatever is possible to correct this travesty or at the least to keep the animal alive long enough to rectify this ruling.
