stiffen penalties and empower enforcement against discrimination in the work place toward pregnant women

Created by K.S. on November 04, 2011

It is time to address and stop the attack against maternity benefits and the covert discrimination against pregnant women in the work place. This is occurring on several fronts from requiring women to use vacation time for maternity leave to dwindling health insurance benefits for prenatal care and requiring sick days while pregnant to count against maternity leave time. A survey should be completed to determine the number of demotions occuring after returning from maternity leave. The 6 week leave time should be extended to 8 weeks minimum with pay and physician office visits should not be subject to the standard copay.
