We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Stop abuse of the government's ability to take away military pay and benefits.

Created by S. . on May 28, 2016

The government continues to take away military pay and benefits in a strive to reduce the current budget. Just like any other employee under a contract, every military member signed a contract. That contract is there to ensure the United States has a military force and also to protect the military members. What is happening is the service members are signing a contract and then their benefits are being taken from them and there is nothing they can do about it, but take it. Most service members are under contract for at least four years, and a large portion have already re-enlisted indefinitely, which means they are under contract until they have served for at minimum 20 years. Service members have no way to protect themselves as this is happening to them and their families.
