STOP ABUSE OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM

Freedom of religion is an important part of the United States constitution. Tt is our constitutional right that we are able to choose whatever religion we please but when a religious institution is putting children in danger the government needs to step in. I would like to propose a bill that would allow parents of children to limit their child’s religious freedom even if they are over 18, if the institution or church they choose to join has red flags showing it is dangerous or harmful to the individual. 60% of cults allow physical punishment of children, this is often life threatening.Child abuse should not be legal under the guise of religious freedom. Children born or tricked into cults are much more likely to be abused then a child outside of a cult and cannot protect themselves.
