Stop accepting refugees from the middle east and instead offer humanitarian aid to the neighboring countries of origin.

Bringing any refugees from the middle east (not just Syria) is a bad idea for many reasons.
1: There is the problem of vetting legitimate people from terrorist & other undesirables.
2: The current climate of distrust of Muslims in the US.
3: Culture shock, the refugees are unlikely to want to integrate to US social norms, thus leading to further isolation, possibly violence and a high incidence of conflict.
4: The cost is undeniably high when we already have a homeless & unemployment problem. Adding more people on top of an already struggling economy isn't prudent.
5: Neighboring countries to the sources of the refugees are better equiped to deal with the cultural & religious issues of the refugees.
6: The US can help provide emergency housing, food, health services in the region.
