Throughout the US, states are enacting so called "ag-gag" laws. These laws prohibit taking "undercover" photos or videos and making said photos and videos in public.
In Utah, a woman was recently arrested under ag-gag laws for taking a video of a slaughterhouse from the side of the road (public property).
These laws are clear violations of free speech and freedom of the press clauses of the First Amendment, and while - in time - they will no doubt be struck down, they are causing harm NOW.
The chilling effects of prior restraint of free speech are well known, and universally abhorred by higher courts. Innocent citizens are being detained and arrested now for being good citizens.
Block states from taking our rights away to protect those who would do us harm.
