It seems pointless to subsidize theses crops, and then complain about the billions of dollars a year that are spent to treat the diseases from the over use of tobacco (Cancer, heart disease etc) and Corn (Obesity, diabetes, heart disease etc, from corn sugar) Basic economic principal shows that if something is too expensive people will not buy it. Ending the subsides will drive the prices of tobacco products and anything that uses corn sugar (about 80% of "food products") up to where people will not use them, significantly reducing over time the number of cancer patients, and obesity related diseases
