Stop the AIDS epidemic. We have the right to know if the person we are intimate with tested positive.

Created by C.L. on January 29, 2014

My petition is dedicated to help stop the AIDS epidemic. It should be mandatory for US citizens to get tested once a year for HIV. According to our government statistics, 1 in 6 people living with HIV are unaware they have it, and about 1 in 4 new HIV infections is among youth ages of 13-24. If a person tests positive, they should be required to get a "brand" or "mark" in a private area on their body that only someone intimate with them would be able to see. This would not be an invasion of privacy. Every person should have the right to know if the person they are intimate with has HIV. This will not only keep people educated and aware, but will also make sure an infected person cannot have unprotected sex with an innocent victim.
