The American Tax payers currently pay money in subsidies to farmers.
These subsidies push the American economy into growing food, rather than other more worthy efforts as well as disrupt the global economy.
Mexico cannot grow it's own food, due to the American Government paying farmers to grow food here. We as Americans pay for the food of other nations, as it is cheaper to buy from us than to grow it on their own.
This contributes to illegal immigration, as if there were farms in Mexico that grew food, Mexican workers could work there, rather than crossing the border to work here.
It should not be America's responsibility to feed the world, at the cost of tax payer dollars.
