The federal debt has reached alarming rates. When used properly, debt can finance private and government investment and support economic growth. Too much debt can destroy a family, business or even a country. The United States as of 10/09/2014 has a national debt of $17,862,438,532,101.71. The estimated population of the United States is 319,178,311, so each citizen's share of this debt is $55,963.82. In 2012 the United States spend approximately $37,680,000,000 on foreign aid. While it is nice to help your neighbor, if you can not help yourself, you can not help others. This petition is to request that the government consider ending all foreign aid except that required to provide nation security until our national debt is re-payed
