Stop all new voter regulations until after 2012 elections

This petition is to temporarily halt new voting regulations in states that could prevent millions from voting in the 2012 elections. Many states have added new laws that will prevent students, minorities, and the elderly from voting. These laws cite "voter fraud" as their reasoning even though it is extremely rare. It also makes it difficult for "get out the vote" organizations to register new voters. These organizations help register elderly and young voters that may not be able to make it to the polls. This petitions purpose is also to stop states from shortening the length of time for early voting, making it harder for people who can't get to polling places. I propose that we halt all new regulations until after the 2012 elections and then open the topic for discussion from all sides.
