STOP all SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) negotiations to protect the Internet, our Internet rights, and innovation.

Created by K.G. on November 28, 2011

While SOPA will help in taking down pirate sites, it will also cause more harm than good. As the bill is currently written, would seriously undermine the effective mechanism Congress enacted in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This bill would require the monitoring of many websites.

Another way should be found to stop online piracy and rogue websites. We believe that this bill will threaten the very foundations that makes the Internet what it is today. By passing this bill, innovation would very likely be crushed. We would like to strongly urge you not to risk the success, benefits, or usefulness of the Internet.

Many companies have spoken out against this petition including companies like Microsoft, Zynga, Facebook, Google, AOL, Mozilla, eBay, Yahoo!, and many others.
