Currently lottery winners are able to keep their housing assistance regardless of the amount of winnings. At this time, only the interest is counted toward their income limit. No person who has won $100,000 or more should keep government assistance of any kind. That limit could be lowered as it will allow families to work and maintain their own lives without assistance. It is a waste of money when these individuals no longer need assistance to survive! The whole point of government assistance is to help individuals survive, not live in luxury while those who work struggle to hold on to their homes and have food to eat!
