Elected government officials should not be able to have any income except from their prospective job as a government official. If they own their own business that is fine to have that income, but they should not be allowed to get any income from anywhere else. PERIOD. Elected officials are supposed to be doing what WE THE PEOPLE want, but they take money from corporations to sway their votes. A committe should be hired of REGULAR CITIZENS from each of their prospective officials states who investigate all of their income and determine if the officials are accepting money from anywhere besides their government paycheck and a personal business.
