One of the big fundamental problems I see with our government, is that the people that are supposed to be serving the needs of the people are serving the wants of big business. They spend an exorbitant amount of time securing funding for their campaigns instead of governing and because our political leaders are so dependent on this support from corporations they end up basically working for corporations while trying to appease the general public; rather than working for the general public and it's best interests first and foremost.
An alternative system where elections are publicly funded, capped, watched, and equal for all candidates would help us to get politicians that work for the American citizens rather than big business and corporations.
