stop allowing certain backgrounds to interfere with our employment/careers

Created by R.H. on August 06, 2013

Stop allowing certain felonies to hold us back from our careers. I spent time in prison for Dealing in uncontrolled substances, I served my time and returned to society and I only want to do the right thing, I have been released for almost three years filling out hundreds of applications for jobs, going to several interviews only for them to tell me "Sorry, but your background interferes." That's messed up. I kept my nose clean, I don't even do drugs. I've even been reduced to lying on applications (which I don't want to do) in hopes that maybe...just maybe i'd get hired so I can live a productive life. But once again, that damn social security number tells the truth about me. It's almost like the government wants felons to return to old ways. Not every felon returning home is a crook.
