It is a well known fact that many companies buy patents with no intent of developing the product, but only to get rid of their competition. This practice destroys innovation in American business and should be illegal.
If a patent is bought regulations should be in place to assure the public the company is investing in the product and making a full effort to bring it to market.
These regulations would not only create new jobs but allow for America to advance. It would force companies to explore new ideas, to become innovators again, instead of trying to maximize profits off of old ideas.
