Stop allowing companies to dropship items online. If a company has an item for sale online, they should have the item.

Created by N.G. on January 08, 2013

Companies should not be allowed to sell items online that they do not physically stock. This causes harm to consumers and to actual retailers who take an inventory position on an item. Retailers who pay employees, rent, utilities, supplies etc., are left a disadvantage to drop shippers. Retailers have to sell the item for enough money to pay for expenses, while drop shippers only need to make a few pennies because they work out of their house and have no expenses. In addition, lets say a manufacturer has 20 drop shippers and 10 of a given item in stock. If all 20 drop shippers sell that item in the same day, lets say, 10 consumers will get the item, while 10 consumers will not and will have to go somewhere else to find the item. Jobs are lost and consumers are left in a disadvantage.
