STOP Allowing Credit Checks to prevent People From Entering the Workforce!

Credit checks for employment needlessly harm those who need jobs most. People’s experiences with medical debt, student debt, or other economically challenging circumstances should not stop them from getting a job. Please support the mission to end this appalling practice through the Equal Employment for All Act. Stop allowing companies to use credit backgrounds as a means of hiring people. In order to pay off debts owed, we have to have a job. No job, no debts paid. How does the employer expect people to clean up their credit history and pay off bills/loans if they cannot get a job and work to pay off their debt. This is a very unfair practice and it needs to be stopped. Please sign this petition and tell our policy makers to stop jobs from using a persons credit history against them!
