stop allowing endless, useless petitions to be filed on the whitehouse.gov website.

Created by Z.R. on November 14, 2012

When some people see that a petition is on the White House website, they falsely assume that it is in some way official and not merely created by a guy sitting in his mother's basement with Cheetos flakes on his shirt and Call of Duty on pause. This causes a great deal of distress to intelligent people, particularly when legitimate news agencies begin reporting on such petitions as being "possible" future events, regardless of their legality (see: Texas secession). Please stop giving the guy from Brad Paisley's "So Much Cooler Online" song the appearance of a legitimate voice. Please stop filling my Facebook news feed with "Texas is seceding!" statuses that are linked to your page. Mr. Obama, close this gate. Mr. Obama, Mr. Obama, tear down this site!
