Stop allowing inexperienced Politically Appointed Ambassadors from taking jobs away from Career Ambassadors

Created by K.S. on April 21, 2014

Career Ambassadors are senior members of the State Department called Foreign Service Officers (FSOs) that work their way up through the ranks over the entirety of their career and life. Furthermore, these types of ambassadors are appointed by the President and Congress.
Ambassadorial Appointees, also known as Political Appointees, are appointed by the President solely, and are only based on how much they supported the current political leader (president). Furthermore, Political Appointees are given posts that a lot of Careers would love, for instance, most of Europe, and are still inexperienced when working.
As a result of the examples above examples, I move that our government strike the Political Appointee policies and we only allow Career Ambassadors to be appointed to foreign states.
