Stop allowing lowly skilled/qualified foreign STEM "guest workers" (H1-B visas) from taking jobs from American workers.

Created by J.L. on May 03, 2013

The recent Economic Policy Institute study (http://www.epi.org/publication/bp359-guestworkers-high-skill-labor-marke...) on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) job supply and demand showed that the U.S. supplies more than enough qualified candidates to fill STEM job demand organically - without foreign "guest workers". In fact, the current H1-B program has only served to depress STEM wages and take jobs away from U.S. citizens (e.g. college graduates, returning military, existing unemployed).

Instead of increasing the number of H1-B visas, the qualifications should be strengthened (e.g. PhD, MS - not BA/BS) and the penalties for committing hiring fraud should be increased (enough to become a deterrent).
