We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Stop and enforce penalties for the desecration of the flag of the United States

Created by J.T. on November 11, 2016

On June 11th, 1990 the Supreme Court ruled that the desecration of the flag of the United States is a example of free speech and should not have consequences. Many disagree with this whole heartedly. Many people have fought and died for this country on our home soil and overseas defending what this flag represents. There are many forms of peaceful protest but none of which should include burning, standing, or any other form of desecration of our flag, a symbol that many have died for.

This petition calls to enforce and reinstate US Code Title 18, Part I, Chapter 33, 700. (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/700)
