"Common Core" is federally-run, nationalized education which actually lowers educational standards and severely limits parental, local and state controls over education. It exploits our children (and families) and personal, private data for research, political and commercial gains through data collection systems/databases (such as SLDS).
Government grants provided stimulus money as incentives for states to sign up for "Common Core" through "Race to the Top" without full disclosure of content, etc. Companies such as Pearson (publishing company), Microsoft (Bill Gates has "donated" $100, 000, 000+ and will spend millions more) and other commercial interests stand to gain significantly from its implementation.
