Under Section 1 of the 14th Amendment "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
This bill and any other similar bills which seek to "defend religious freedom" are in direct contradiction to this amendment by allowing blatant discrimination through denying the services given others on the basis of religion to a number of groups like the LGBT community .
The United States Government has a responsibility to protect ALL Americans regardless of race, religion, creed, or sexuality, and defend their civil rights.
