The current administration has decided to provide small arms assistance and also pays wages to rebel fighters who are linked to extremist groups in Syria. The FSA are mosty foreign fighters promoting the killing of Syrians who defend the homeland.
So far 100,000 people have died in Syria. The Saa is defending the freedom of Syria, and is already making strong advances against the rebels. Arming the rebel fighters so late in the conflict will only continue the bloodshed and cost the US more money.
