The ATF's proposed rule change will make it unnecessarily more difficult for law abiding citizens who are part of a legal trust to acquire NFA items. As it stands there are over 250,000 NFA items owned in America, and only two have ever been used in a crime since the NFA passed in 1934. Therefore, there is no reasonable justification for tightening the process further, as it will only make it exponentially more difficult for those already complying with the law to do so.
