Stop athletic departments and schools from protecting athletes who commit sexual assualt

In many high schools and colleges, athletes who commit sexual assault are often given light sentences, if any at all. If Congress acted to put pressure on schools, it would help solve this. First, athletic departments do not get to be in charge of sexual assault investigations or disciplinary measures. If an athlete is accused of sexual assault, a investigation must be started within the week and the athlete accused is out for the next event, and all following events during the investigation. If an athlete is found guilty, that person is out for at least 12 weeks, which can be carried over into multiple seasons. Victims have a right to know about disciplinary & investigative materials. Finally, athletic departments must not have restrictions on investigative measures of athletes
