Stop the attack on private firearm ownership and acknowledge that banning certain weapons will not prevent atrocities.

Created by K.S. on December 21, 2012

Private gun owners nationwide are sorrowed by mass killings such as the recent tragedy in Newtown, CT. We do not believe that banning "assault" weapons, semi-automatic weapons or high-capacity magazines will prevent future tragedies. We also believe banning these weapons and magazines would be a violation of the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.

We believe part of the intent of the 2nd Amendment was/is to allow citizens to protect themselves from an oppressive government. The Founding Fathers feared an over-powerful, oppressive centralized government. This is why the Founding Fathers placed limits on the federal government and adopted the Bill of Rights. Banning weapons or magazines weakens the ability of the people to defend themselves against oppression, should the need ever arise.
