stop attacking freedom of speech

Created by D.S. on January 29, 2014

A federal civil servant named Douglas Sczygelski was fired by the US Customs and Border Protection agency simply because his boss didn't like his political views, even though Sczygelski never advocated violence or any kind of illegal activity, and nobody ever filed a complaint against him. This was illegal, because Title 5, Section 7323(c) of the federal statutes says federal civil servants have the right to express their views about "political subjects and candidates." Sczygelski tried suing, but the federal courts say they don't have jurisdiction to enforce Section 7323(c). The only thing Sczygelski can do is petition the Obama administration for reinstatement, but the Obama administration refuses to reinstate him and refuses to explain why it is refusing to reinstate him.
