Stop attempting to place bans on various types of guns, weapons, magazines, and ammunition

President Obama is trying to ban assault weapons, large amounts of ammunition, and high capacity magazines. A ban like this will lead to a no gun policy, stripping law-abiding citizens of their right to own guns. Gun control doesn't lower murder rates, it raises them. "Nations with stringent anti-gun laws generally have substantially higher murder rates than those that do not" Any type of gun ban goes against the 2nd amendment. Criminals do not follow laws, meaning they will be the only people that have guns. If we can't protect ourselves, who can? The 2nd amendment states, "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Guns are the foundation of America. Without it the structure is weak.
