Australia's PM, Tony Abbott, has already gotten the approval to start dredging near the Great Barrier Reef in order to expand existing ports and to create new ones. This dredging will disrupt the reefs fragile ecosystem and cause irreversible damage to the marine life of the reef.
The deforestation of 740,000 hectares of a UNESCO World Heritage site has yet to be approved by UNESCO and it may not be approved, but Abbott has more ambitions with a complete disregard for the well-being of earth. These crimes against nature must be stopped.
