Although Assad isn't perfect, he has a much higher approval rating than your "moderate" rebels. Large portions of the Free Syrian Army have left and joined groups such as al Nusra and ISIS. That shows that there are many radicals among these "moderates". Besides that, the FSA has done many terrorist attacks such as bombing innocent civilians in government controlled Aleppo, and even plotting to kill innocent Russians. Even if you ignore all of that, Syria will be much more stable with Assad than without him. That can be shown if we look at Libya. Libya had a dictator, but when we got rid of him, Libya didn't stay stable. Now Libya is back at war, and some groups like ISIS are there now. These aren't even all the reasons we should back Assad.
