The American pit bull terrier is heavily targeted for being a dangerous uncontrollable breed compared to many other breeds such as the Rottweiler or German Shepherd. I am amazed how the media reports some of the stories they do. What they don't tell you are the condition of the animal and why the dogs attacked. I have grown up with this specific dog breed and from my own personal experience; I have never known a more gentle and docile breed. We the people need to prevent states from banning the American Pit Bull Terrier simply because of the size of their “head” or just because they are “dangerous”. Officers need to make a proper investigation regarding the household of the dog before outright making the decision to euthanize or in the case of Montreal; ban.
