WHEREAS, we the undersigned value the arts;
WHEREAS, Warner Bros. announced that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the sequel to "Man of Steel";
WHEREAS, Batman is a cultural icon;
WHEREAS, Affleck's failure as Daredevil destroyed a legendary comic book hero for future generations.
WHEREAS, Affleck's role as Batman would destroy an American cultural icon;
WHEREAS, the constitution clearly gives the federal government the responsibility to protect the value of intellectual property; and,
WHEREAS, the federal government has the authority to restrict communications, including the content of motion pictures, when there is an imminent threat of harm to the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, WE URGE THE WHITE HOUSE TO:
Ban Ben Affleck from portraying Batman in any and all forms.
