While this may seem like a trivial petition on the surface -- perhaps even one done in jest, it is not. Having lived through the Clooney Batman, I know from experience how this can effect a whole generations of Americans and how serious this can really be. (Affleck is a talented actor, but he is not Batman)
As evident from the Bale Batman, if chosen correctly, a strong Batman franchise can affect the US economically in positive ways, and as viewed from the rest of world (who are fans as well), you set up a generation of fans who will pump the American economy up, particularly at Christmas time.
As Americans, we can't have another bomb of a Batman film, one that sets back the blockbuster model of superhero films for another generation (see Batman & Robin for a reference point).
