This is a petition to stop the building of the Dakota Access oil pipeline. This pipeline has the potential to (and more than likely will at some point) poison the waters of the Missouri River. It's not a matter of whether it will leak or not, but WHEN it will leak. It is inevitable that this pipeline WILL deteriorate over time. And, when it does leak, it will not just be a local problem, it will be a national problem. This river runs clear from Montana straight down to the Mississippi River leading all the way to Louisiana and out into the Gulf of Mexico. These are the two longest rivers in the United States.
