Our country is in a budget crisis & to see the Bureau of Land Management allowed to spend over 65 million dollars annually to gather & house our Wild Mustangs & Burros is an outright abuse of our tax dollars. The land was purchased for them but is being leased for pennies on the dollar to oil, mining, gas & cattle industries. We as tax payers did not get a vote in that. We purchased the land for the preservation of our mustangs & burros. The information that the BLM is using to substantiate these gathers is outdated. There have been recent studies done by The Cloud Foundation, Ginger Kathrens & other organizations to show what the BLM is doing is wrong & a waste of the tax payers money. The adoption program isn't working & these animals end up trucked for 1000's of miles to be slaughtered.
