We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Stop businesses from starting their Black Friday sales on Thursday night.

Created by R.F. on September 28, 2016

Black Friday sales are known for getting out of control, but what's becoming even more insane are the times the sales are starting. Since 2012, businesses like Target, Sears, Toys R Us, and Walmart have been opening as early as 5pm on Thursday night. This has caused more stores to open on Thanksgiving Day in the following years in order to compete with the others.

We need to put an end to these "Grey Thursday" sales so we can focus on spending Thanksgiving with our families. It's especially unfair to retail employees who are unable to enjoy the holiday because they're required to work those unfortunate hours. Laws that prohibit stores from opening any earlier than 12am on Friday should be enforced, out of respect for the celebration of Thanksgiving.
