STOP BUYING OIL FROM VENEZUELA.

This petition is to ask the government to stop using double standards for their own benefit. We have an embargo in Cuba, which includes the Cuban Democracy Act of 1992, and the Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917. We want the same acts to apply to Venezuela, create the Venezuela Democracy Act of 2014 and apply the Trading with the Enemy act of 1917. Currently the Main Land US receives around 10% of oil from Venezuela. In comparison US purchases 36% of Venezuela’s oil export, making us their biggest trading partner. The temporary cease of purchase of oil, will be beneficial to both political parties due to the fact that is to their both interest to resolve the political chaos the country is currently on, or the influx of oil dollars will cease.
