Since September 11, 2001 was a national tragedy that had nothing to do with patriotism, I feel that it is a serious injustice to the memory of those killed to have their deaths mocked in such a blatant appeal to all Americans to give up their freedom for no increased safety. Since those who died that day may or may not have been patriots, the only reason I can come up with to call September 11th patriot day, is to celebrate the USAPATRIOT act (the single most unpatriotic piece of legislation ever to pull its dark, twisted shape out of congress). To openly celebrate the destruction of the bill of rights by the USAPATRIOT act is NOT patriotic, and therefore this "holiday" needs to be renamed. Perhaps we can start the process with a suggestion for a new name. How about senseless victim day?
