As predicted, the consequences of global warming, extreme weather conditions, have become more common and more severe in recent years. The events, from east to west, include devastating tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, draughts, and wildfires. A total of three events in 2010 caused $7 billion in damages while twelve events in 2011 incurred $52 billion in losses. Last year was the worst with eleven events and a total damage of $152 billion.
