Currently, CEOs from corporations that have -and continue- to receive billions in federal subsidies and tax relief are actively lobbying for deficit reduction plans that would severely cut Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, and eliminate individual tax deductions and credits (i.e, the child tax credit) while advocating that corporations pay zero taxes on domestic or foreign income.
If enacted, companies would continue to receive federal subsidies while paying no taxes, and individuals would be forced to carry the burden for all tax revenues.
Do not allow these plans to be part of deficit or debt reduction efforts. Any deficit reduction plans must be fairly applied and not carried out on the backs of those who can least afford it.
