Stop the planned Oct 1st, 2013 changes to Tricare health insurance benefits for Retired Military members and their families.Tricare Prime will change to Tricare Standard for all retires and their family members that reside 40 miles or more away from a military installation. These changes will effect families in the following ways:
No Primary Care Manager; Patient pays Deductible and Co-payment 25% of all medical bills; Patient pays balance if bill exceeds allowable charge and provider is non-participating (up to 15% additional); No availability statement may be required for civilian inpatient care for areas surrounding MTFs; Beneficiaries may have to do their own paperwork and file their own claims; POS annual deductible & cost-share amounts do not count toward enrollment yr maximum..
