Stop Child Deaths In Hot Vehicles

Created by A.Q. on June 23, 2014

On average, 38 children die in hot cars each year from heat-related deaths after being trapped inside motor vehicles. Even the best of parents or caregivers can unknowingly leave a sleeping baby in a car; and the end result can be injury or even death.

Today the technology exists to save lives of children:
Smart occupant detection systems could:

1.Start the car, activate the climate control system in order to maintain a habitable environment
2.Honk the horn at specific intervals to gain the attention of any nearby people
3.Send a text message or even telephone call to the person who owns the car
4.If 3) fails call OnStar
5.Unlock the doors and roll down the windows
