Churning of individual accounts for fees is illegal. Since the advent of electronic trading, the big boys, professional traders and day traders now effectively "churn" of the stock market with manipulative, massive electronic trading. Whether the stock prices go up or down, the traders get money. See, "Trading Places." The ubiquitous MSNBC and its talking heads then promote the churning of the stock market with false, and reckless statements on a daily basis, as they purport to know the unknown and unknowable as why each stock trade is up or down, and do not expose the money they make directly or indirectly to get each stock to move up or move down. This rampant misconduct is why the market is violently volatile and the stock market has become nothing but an alley crap shoot.
