Cities and states are helping internet providers keep monopolies that overprice people in small cities. These internet monopolies make secrete agreements to stay out of the town just next to them to keep prices high. Cities and states help keep competitors out and even in Kansas the state law makers passed a law to stop a small town from creating their own broadband network when no one else would. In my area charter and cableone are big offenders they have made a secrete pact to stay out of each others town and not to compete with each other hurting all consumers with low bandwith caps and high prices.
