stop 'claw-back' recovery of Social Security payments after income taxes have been paid on the SSI payments received.

Created by W.E. on January 29, 2014

Social Security Insurance benefits can be taxed to 100% automatically by the Internal Revenue Service years before Social Security requests return of the benefits paid. If not paid in full the benefits are confiscated at 100% per month until fully repaid. Inefficiencies in protocol for notifying the SSI of income levels that will stop the benefit payments are totally inadequate for preventing an accumulation of benefits totals resulting in years of debt to be repaid. To prevent current benefits from being used to repay the past taxed benefit amounts (potentially for several years), and with no realistic way to recover the taxes paid from the IRS, any benefits taxed shall remain as income until benefits can be suspended. Maximum annual income$15K is less than maximum SSI benefits available.
