It has been brought to my attention that the Pentagon is forcing veterans of the Iraq war to return re-enlistment bonuses paid to them. This is an absolute TRAVESTY and and a SLAP IN THE FACE to all our veterans who have served their country and risked their lives all for a war which we're finding out was started under false pretenses.
The US Government has a military budget of astronomical proportions, and the total amount that is attempted to be collected is but a drop in the hat of the total budget...but individually, to these soldiers and their families, can mean EVERYTHING from LOSING THEIR HOME or FORGOING MEDICAL CARE. THIS HAS TO STOP. They soldiers did NOTHING WRONG except believe recruiters when they were told they were eligible for these bonuses. LET THEM KEEP WHAT THEY EARNED
