Recently Comcast has begun using a browser pop up telling you that your modem/router is not supported so you might not get the full experience with their service and to get one of their approved modem/routers. This is an attempt to force consumers who purchase their own equipment to rent from them. Once you do rent from them this pop up will go away. This is an infringement upon the consumer's right to purchase and use any equipment they see fit. This method is also targeted to smartphones and such that access the internet through their service.
